New courses on dual liability and other topics to open

Government supported educational courses for the purpose of fostering business compliance and ethics open every year from now.

On June 1, the ACRC announced that a business ethics internal experts course is offered for the first time starting from June 2. The course, which will take place in Seoul, is aimed at settling and expanding business ethics.

A total of 102 people in charge of business ethics participated in the government supported course, which will help to spread a culture of business ethics within companies through staff in charge of law and business ethics.

The ACRC has operated integrity policy courses to share the major anti-corruption and integrity policies in public sector since 2013, and 224 companies have joined so far.

The internal expert course has been altered to reflect the realities of the business ethics. It goes beyond the simple education on anti-corruption and integrity policies to foster internal experts who can lead in business ethics and contribute to the spreading of an ethical business culture.

To achieve its goals, the course has been designed to confront a number of issues, such as dual liability under the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act, new business ethics trends inside and outside Korea and possible responses to them, self-diagnosis models and analyses, and dilemmas and solutions.

An ACRC official elaborated, saying “The new course is expected to be an opportunity to deepen understanding of the government’s anti-corruption policies and achieve a more mature culture of business ethics.”
