The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (ACRC) joined the "Network for Integrity" as a founding member, officially launched on December 9, which is the "International Anti-Corruption Day" designated by the UN.

The Network for Integrity, officially launched in Paris, is a global network between public institutions responsible for integrity, transparency and ethics in public life to pursue the objective of developing and promoting an international culture of integrity.

The representatives from the ACRC attended the inaugural meeting of the Network for Integrity, held in Paris on December 8-9, and discussed the draft Charter and future activities with high-ranking government officials from anti-corruption and ethics related agencies from 14 countries, including France, Italy, Greece, Mexico and Senegal.

In this meeting, founding members adopted the Charter of the Network for Integrity and agreed to conduct joint activities such as survey and research on major topics of common interest, exchange of relevant legislation and good practices by building an online library on its website (networkforintegrity.org), workshops, training sessions, etc.

The National Institute for Transparency, Access to Information and Private Data Protection of Mexico and the High Authority for transparency in public life were chosen to take the presidency and the vice-presidency, respectively, for a term of two years. The French authority was also designated as the permanent secretariat of the Network.

During the meeting, the ACRC invited member institutions to its training program for international anti-corruption practitioners to be organized in April 2017.

The meeting was attended by about 30 participants, including Choi Hak-kyun, standing commissioner of the ACRC; Jean-Louis Nadal, president of the High Authority for transparency in public life in France; Dalija Orešković, president of the Commission for the Resolution of Conflicts of Interest in Croatia; president Bogdan Stan of the National Integrity Agency in Romania; Joel Salas Suárez, commissioner at the National Institute for Transparency, Access to Information and Private Data Protection in Mexico; Nicoletta Parisi, member of the council of the National Anti-Corruption Authority in Italy; and Konstantinos Christou, secretary general of the Greek General Secretariat for Fight against Corruption.
