In commemoration of "International Anti-Corruption Day" (December 9) designated by the UN, the ACRC and the Korean Network on Anti-Corruption & Transparency (K-NACT) co-hosted "Korea Integrity Conference" at the Sejong Convention Center in order to spread a culture of integrity across the country.

During the opening ceremony, the heads of the 45 member organizations of the K-NACT, including Transparency International Korea, Teachers’ Pension (TP), Korea Railway Corporation, and Korea Federation of SMEs, adopted a declaration to commemorate the International Anti-Corruption Day.

"How Korean society is changing after the enforcement of the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act" was the topic of a discussion held in the afternoon. The discussion focused on the changes taking place in Korean society and efforts public institutions, local governments, education institutions, and the media will have to make to fully implement the Act.

The ACRC held a variety of anti-corruption events such as an exhibition of good integrity polices and practices of member agencies of the K-NACT, and the Integrity Concert performed in a traditional Korean genre of musical storytelling, Pansori.

In a commemoration speech, Chairman Sung Yung-hoon said "corruption is the last remaining obstacle for Korea to leap to the next stage and in this regard, the key to success is to successfully implement the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act."

The K-NACT is a joint consultative body composed of 45 public, civic and vocational organizations from the private and public sectors. Since its establishment in September 2014, the K-NACT has been working on various activities: activities to raise public awareness on anti-corruption and integrity issues, campaigns to spread a culture of integrity across the country and recommendations regarding anti-corruption and integrity policies.
