ACRC built an integrity cluster in Gwangju/South Jeolla Province

The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (ACRC) announced that an integrity cluster was formed in Gwangju/South Jeolla Province with Naju Innovation City as its center.
The integrity cluster refers to a regional anti-corruption and integrity network. It aims to enhance the levels of integrity of the organizations in the region, which have conducted anti-corruption activities individually, by making joint efforts with the ACRC, and spread a culture of integrity by holding various anti-corruption and integrity events.
Starting from the integrity cluster in Gwangu/South Jeolla area, the ACRC plans to establish integrity clusters in other Innovation Cities nationwide—Busan, Daegu, Ulsan, Gwangwon, North Chungcheong, North Jeolla, North Gyeongsang, South Gyeongsang, and Jeju.
The integrity cluster in Gwangju/South Jeolla Province is highly recognized since public organizations in Naju Innovation City voluntarily run an anti-corruption committee and have held the Bitgaram (Korean word referring to Gwangju and South Jeolla area) Integrity Festival starting from 2015. The ACRC plans to designate the integrity cluster in Gwangju/South Jeolla Province as one of the best practices of building and managing a regional integrity cluster.
"The 2nd Bitgaram Integrity Festival" is held in Naju Innovation City for five days from May 30 to June 3. The ACRC is actively providing its support so that the festival can be an opportunity to instill a culture of integrity in both local residents and public officials. As part of its support, Chairman Sung Yung-hoon of the ACRC delivered congratulatory remarks at the opening ceremony. The ACRC will also conduct integrity lectures and hold an integrity concert for the event, as well as a meeting to discuss cooperative anti-corruption activities with members of the cluster.
An official from the ACRC said, "Marking the establishment of this integrity cluster, I expect that a culture of integrity will naturally take root in the Gwangju and South Jeolla area. Going forward, the ACRC will make every effort to spread a culture of integrity in society as a whole by extending integrity clusters to other regions such as Busan, North Chungcheong, and Gwangwon."
