On March 30, the ACRC held a policy briefing session for the executive members of foreign chambers of commerce in Korea to introduce Korea's major anti-corruption policies and to listen to the difficulties and grievances of foreign businesses in Korea. The policy briefing was attended by 11 executive members of foreign chambers of commerce in Korea, including President John Schuldt of the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) in Korea, Jeffrey Jones of the Partners for the Future Foundation (former Chairman of AMCHAM), Chairman Atsuyuki Miki of the Seoul Japan Club (President & CEO of Mitsui & Co. Korea Ltd.), Chairman Steve Duckworth of the British Chamber of Commerce in Korea (Managing Director at ERM Korea), President David-Pierre Jalicon of the French Korean Chamber of Commerce (CEO of D.P.J & Partners), and Vice President Peter Tiedemann of the Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (President of Carl Zeiss Korea).

Sung Yung-hoon, Chairman of the ACRC, affirmed the strong determination of the Korean government to the fight against corruption and introduced the ACRC's major anti-corruption policies and plans for this year. The Chairman also listened to the suggestions of foreign businesspeople about improving the business environment in Korea.

Participants showed their strong support for the Korean government's will to tackle corruption and, in particular, their keen interest in the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act which is scheduled to be enforced in September this year. They also expressed their expectations on the successful implementation of the Act.

Since 2008, the ACRC has held annual policy briefing sessions for foreign businesses to introduce the Korean government's anti-corruption policies, solve the difficulties of foreign businesspeople in Korea, and reflect their suggestions in policies.
