The delegation of the Government Inspectorate of Vietnam (GIV) visited the ACRC from May 22 to 25 to receive training and learn about Korea's anti-corruption policies and experiences in the field. The training was attended by 12 officials of the GIV including Director Nguyen Quoc Hiep of the Inspection Research Center.

The ACRC designed the training program to meet the educational demand of the GIV, which covered various issues such as public service ethics, the Code of Conduct for Public Officials, investigation of corruption, and protection and compensation of whistleblowers. The training materials were translated into Vietnamese and provided to the trainees in advance, enhancing both understanding and satisfaction about the lectures.

The delegation of the GIV also visited the Korea Expressway Corporation which was selected as one of the best organizations by the 2011 Anti-Corruption Initiatives Assessment, and learned about the integrity program that is being promoted by the Corporation.

Director Nguyen said, "Korea is one of the leading countries that have been successful in fighting against corruption, and it has many anti-corruption policies and systems that are applicable to Vietnam. We hope that learning about Korea's anti-corruption experience and efforts will be a golden opportunity for Vietnam to prepare and improve Vietnam's anti-corruption system."

The ACRC plans to provide additional materials and advice on the further request of the GIV, supporting Vietnam more actively for improving anti-corruption capability in a stronger cooperation with the GIV.
