Ombudsman outreach for foreigners.

      From 1 pm to 5 pm on August 21st, ACRC conducted the complaint counseling for foreigners at Foreigner’s Community Center in Ansan city. The Community Center is famous for that foreigners gather from Incheon, Siheung and Hwaseong city remitting their incomes to home country. Considering that it is not easy for foreign workers to visit the Community Center on week days, Sunday afternoon was chosen for the counseling time. Interpreters of four languages such as Indonesian, Sri Lankan and Philippine with thirteen investigators were deployed at the intensive counseling for issues such as unpaid wages, employment, fringe benefit, immigration and visa which are highly interested for the foreign workers. At the field, ACRC resolved foreigners’ difficulties through tailored counseling about Korean regulations and systems. Cases unavailable to solve at the counseling were filed as formal complaints and will be handled by investigation and deliberation.
