Anti-corruption & Civil Rights Commission (ACRC, Chairperson Ms. Kim Young-ran) held Anti-corruption & Integrity Workshop for the public officials from the Office of Central Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption (OSCAC) of Vietnam from June 27th to 29th at the ACRC main building.

The workshop which took place by the request of Vietnam included various programs about corruption prevention & control system such as “code of conduct for public officials”, “institutional improvement to prevent corruption”, and Korea's experience of implementing United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC). This workshop was the 2nd event following the last year's workshop to pass on know-hows such as reviewing & handling reports of corruption allegation, financial disclosure of public officials, and protection & reward for informants. It is a part of projects of the MOU for anti-corruption cooperation between Korea and Vietnam which was signed in February 2010, in Hanoi Vietnam. At the meeting with the Vietnamese delegation, Mr. Woon-hyeon Baek, Vice Chairman of the ACRC said, "I hope that Korea's experience and know-how fighting corruption will help you to enhance the national integrity level of Vietnam which is accelerating its reform to uproot social absurdities and to eradicate corruption."

The ACRC also signed MOUs with Indonesia, Thai and Mongolia for anti-corruption cooperation in order to strengthen cooperation for technical assistance. In April, the ACRC signed an MOU with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) for effective technical assistance to developing countries in anti-corruption & ombudsman areas.  The ACRC plans to provide continuous assistance for the developing countries so that they can successfully introduce Korea’s anti-corruption & integrity policies. It is expected that such a commitment not only will help developing countries to enhance anti-corruption capabilities, but also will raise Korea’s national status with its excellent anti-corruption policies and technical assistance projects.
