ACRC, in charge of implementing "Code of Conduct for Public Organization Employees," published the "Casebook of the Code of Conduct for Public Organization Employees" on January 13. The casebook selects and reconstructs specific cases that can be easily violated by public officials on their duty.

ACRC also held a meeting to give guidelines on "2011 Anti-Corruption & Integrity Policy" to over 700 inspectors of public institutions such as central and local governments, education organizations and public service-related agencies on January 13. At this occasion, the commission encouraged the public organizations to use of this casebook in an active way.

The "Code of Conduct for Public Organization Employees" is 16 specific standards of behaviors that public officials should abide by, under the provision of the "Anti-Corruption Law", Article 8, and defined by presidential decrees especially for public officials of the administration and local councilmen.

The newly published casebook includes the reported cases to the ACRC Corruption Report Center and Q&As of the ACRC report counselling. It explains the common violations by reconstructing the real events and shows how the specific code of conducts are applied in the public offices.

The casebook also includes "80 cases of violation of the code of conduct for public organization employees by 16 sectors," and "40 Q&As about general rules of the code of conduct and its enforcement system."

An official of ACRC said, "public officials need to actively abide by the "Code of Conduct for Public Organization Employees" not to be involved in corruption on their duty when diverse interests conflict, and the casebook will be helpful for public officials to easily understand this code of conduct."

ACRC distributed 2164 copies of the casebook to 965 organizations including central and local governments, education organizations, and public service-related agencies. The casebook can be downloaded at www.acrc.go.kr.
